Q3 2026 Release Notes
July - September 2026
This quarter focuses on clearer monitoring workflows, faster ways to find and review footage, and more control over cameras and TetherBoxes. Follow the linked help articles for setup and full reference material.
Live View and Presets
Clearer live stream recovery: Leaving fullscreen holds one saved camera frame while the primary stream reconnects. Buffering shows the growing age of the last frame; failed streams clear their latency and live timestamp until playback resumes.
A more flexible Live View: Choose layouts for standard, wide and portrait screens; drag cameras between tiles; and open a camera, its events, site or TetherBox in a new tab without interrupting the wall. The picker is easier to use with long camera names, multiple timelines and touch screens.

Better on phones and tablets: Tap to show controls, pinch to zoom, drag a zoomed picture and double-tap for fullscreen. Picture-in-picture appears only when the browser and stream support it.
Timelapse playback stays within reach: The scrub bar remains visible below the camera layout on short landscape phone screens.
Multi-channel cameras open reliably in Live View: Cameras attached to recorders with several channels no longer prevent the live view from loading when their PTZ controls are checked.
Saved views, searches and timelapses now work consistently: Save personal or shared Events, Live View and Timelapse presets; keep a deliberate zoom or pan in a saved wall; and cycle a group of walls automatically. Shared walls always respect each viewer's camera access.
Sharing a saved preset is clearer: Moving a personal preset into Shared with Others immediately removes the empty-state message.

Saved searches stay in context: A search saved while viewing all timelines remains available there instead of being filed under one timeline.
Talkdown and deterrents in context: Trigger supported camera lights, speakers and sirens from Live View, and see only the Talkdown controls and announcements that are available to that camera. See Talkdown.
Deterrence audio uploads stay on the page: If an audio message needs correcting before it can be uploaded, the message form now shows the reason instead of an error page.
Events and Investigation
Find people by appearance with TetherX AI: Search for clothing colours and hats, with every selected detail matched to the same person. This requires TetherX AI on the camera.

More precise event searches: Include or exclude video and audio analytics, and filter by duration or where the footage is stored. The new pickers group related analytics and let you select a whole category at once.

Event reports and related footage: Export a branded PDF report containing the event details, notes, number plates, audit trail and time-lapse images. From an event, open nearby events from the same, related or site-wide zones to investigate an incident in context.

Clearer alarm events: Panel state changes, including arming, disarming and connectivity, now appear in Events. Map a panel zone to the camera that covers it, or leave it as a site event. See Alarm Signal Receiving.
Open event lists stay current: Returning from Live View no longer leaves Events updates on the wrong timeline, and an Open list no longer shows events that have been closed.
Clearer new-event playback: When footage is still arriving for a new event, the player explains that it will be available shortly and points to Timelapse in the meantime.
Quieter operator sign-in: Events notification sounds now start off for operator accounts and can be enabled from the Events toolbar when needed.
Cameras and Devices
PTZ controls appear automatically: Live View shows PTZ controls when a camera reports support through ONVIF. Camera settings no longer need a separate PTZ switch.
Recognise equipment at a glance: Camera and device lists, details and API Overview show manufacturer logos where available. Hover or focus a logo to see the manufacturer name; other manufacturers keep their names in text. A camera page also keeps its shared device name visible when a sibling camera identifies the same hardware, and lets you rename that device there.
More accurate manufacturers: Devices with smaller manufacturer address blocks show the registered manufacturer instead of a generic registry name, including devices previously labelled with the registry name.
Vehicle movements on the ANPR page: The movements graph shows Entering, Leaving and Unknown readings alongside vehicle violations, with fifteen-day totals for plate reads, distinct plates, repeat reads and average confidence. For cameras reporting a vehicle's front or rear without a travel direction, calibration under Advanced Settings classifies new readings by direction; earlier readings stay Unknown. Download plate images from the thumbnail menu. See Setting Up ANPR Cameras.
Device web access opens directly: The quick tunnel button on a camera list opens the device's web interface in a new tab without opening the camera details.
Cloud plans for several cameras: Camera bulk edit offers the quote tool's cloud recording, activity, retention, quality, number plate and time-lapse choices. Before applying a plan, review the new subscription count and monthly pricing link. Every selected stream is checked, with the affected camera and compatible quality named when higher resolution is required. Advanced cloud settings remain in the Staff tab.
Trigger choices say what the camera will actually raise: Where a camera reports which analytics rules it has switched on, the trigger picker marks any trigger it is not set for, so a selection that can never arrive is visible before you save it. The picker also explains the zone split: a camera's zone fires for whatever crosses it, so a person arrives as Intrusion and a vehicle as Vehicle Zone Violation. Choosing Intrusion alone will not alert you to vehicles.
Site devices in one place: Open a site's Devices tab to review its TetherBoxes, cameras and IP devices without loading those lists until they are needed.
IP Device diagnostics stay current: Ping results, open ports and the status badges update in loaded tabs while you work elsewhere on the device page.
A simpler camera scheduler: Rules can start at any minute, cross midnight and be layered for exceptions. Choose Record & Live, Record with no live view, Live only or Off; apply a schedule to several cameras; or, with Professional Monitoring, give a high-risk camera its own monitored hours. Existing schedules are retained.
Camera Masking is now shape-based: Draw, name and move Ignore or Watch areas directly on a live still, then apply the mask without interrupting recording. The editor supports adding points and undo/redo, and explains how masks work with TetherX AI.

More control from the Camera API Tab: Configure supported deterrents and picture settings using the camera's own capabilities and limits. Camera and device pages now present clearer hardware, channel, storage and capability information, with matching CSV and Excel exports.

Storage and health are easier to spot: Cameras and devices now show recorder capacity, use, retention and disk warnings where reported. Disk health is read from supported native APIs and ONVIF devices, and failed recorder disks surface in device views, exports, the Health Dashboard and the Health Report.
Smarter camera context: Use Related Zones to open the cameras around an incident as one wall. Camera connection latency sits beside packet loss, with next steps in Footage Gaps. The lists also gain clearer audio, notification and model-image information.
Camera pages and menus stay in place during updates: Stream health, notification preferences, schedules and masks refresh without switching away from API or discarding unsaved Related Zones selections. Updates to other cameras in a list also leave the open camera's options menu intact.
Choose when a camera offline alert is sent: Set the delay beside Notify if Offline on the camera details page. New cameras wait three minutes by default, so brief outages do not trigger an alert.
TetherBox Management
Move a TetherBox without starting again: Move a TetherBox and its site, devices, history and locally recorded footage to another timeline. Cloud footage that must be deleted is clearly shown before confirmation, and the Audit Log distinguishes a queued move from a completed one. See Timelines.

More maintenance options for administrators: Administrators can now reboot, shut down, reset or move their own TetherBoxes, manage storage and USB devices, and see update or reset progress without guessing whether a request went through.
A more useful TetherBox map: Live map pins update as units and faults change, distinguish recent and long-running outages, and work better across large fleets and touch screens. You can include long-silent units, return the whole fleet to view and open the relevant TetherBox, Live View or Events directly.

Better storage visibility: The TetherBox Cameras tab shows each camera's cloud protection. Historical drive readings are clearly marked. See Health Report and recording drive.
Status updates without losing your place: New TetherBox health readings update loaded Summary, Storage and Settings sections while you stay on the tab you are using. Refresh status asks the unit for a new reading immediately.
Update history alongside other history: Find TetherBox software updates beside Connections and Reboots under History, rather than under Settings.
Updates avoid unnecessary alerts: When another update is already running, TetherX waits and retries for up to an hour before reporting a problem.
New hardware and display options: Cameras, IP devices and USB devices now sit under one Devices section. TetherBox can run as a virtual machine, and supported C-Power LED signs can show ANPR plates. See Running TetherBox in VirtualBox.
Accounts, Sites and Professional Monitoring
Clearer user creation: First name, last name and email are marked as required. If a new account cannot be created, the form shows the reason and keeps the details already entered.
Email delivery problems are easier to resolve: Staff can review failed emails, recipient-domain DNS warnings and Gmail feedback connection status in Settings. Connected Gmail feedback also marks later bounces as failed and alerts the account. Delivery warnings appear on the account profile and owner's pages; permanent rejection pauses notification emails and may trigger a push alert, while temporary DNS warnings leave them running. A verification code is required to resume paused notifications; password resets and sign-in codes still send. Welcome emails show queued or failed status, and company welcome packs are dated only after mail-server acceptance. See Rejected Emails.
A choice of sign-in codes: Accounts can use an authenticator app or a lower-security email code after entering a password. Email codes work once, expire after five minutes, and can be requested again if the message does not arrive. Activation, account email changes and delivery checks now use the same six-digit code entry design.
Sign-in buttons line up: The login form fits Apple's button width, with the other sign-in options aligned and evenly spaced. Sign in with Apple appears on each cloud's app address.
Connect Sign in with Apple to your account: Sign in with your usual account and security code once, then confirm the connection. Apple's private email address does not need to match your account email.
Time-Limited User Access: Set Account Expiry and an event-footage period together under Time-Limited Access, for one account or a same-type selection of accounts. Footage access can cover selected zones at sites sharing one timezone, and the account, lists and footage views clearly show the limit and expiry.
Demo accounts keep their Timeline access: Staff can choose Timeline access while creating an account in a demo Timeline.
Camera access saves correctly: Unticking every camera in a user's Live View or Events column now clears that access. Other account edits preserve access to zones whose cameras have not yet been configured, including for control room accounts.
Safer, clearer access controls: Site-restricted administrators see only the accounts and resources they may manage. The account list explains site restrictions, Microsoft sign-in is available for matching work, school and personal accounts, and phone fields now validate and store international numbers consistently.
Monitored Hours for professionally monitored systems: If your system has Professional Monitoring, set the local schedule, covered cameras and date-based exceptions that decide when events reach an operator. Use temporary Monitor Now, Pause Monitoring or Engineer on Site windows without altering the underlying schedule; review detections that a rule held back; and apply changes across a group of sites. These rules now apply to sites monitored by TetherX as well as those forwarded to an external control room.

One clear monitoring status: If your system is professionally monitored, site, camera, alarm and event views explain whether it is currently monitored, outside hours, paused, under engineering work or disarmed. Events record the decision made at the time and show which control room received them.
Alarm keypad stays in place: New panel status, outputs, zones and log entries appear without resetting the keypad or interrupting a code being typed.
Expanded control-room integrations: Connect sites to Patriot Systems or HikCentral, alongside Immix. The unified Control Rooms area includes connection testing, camera-feed availability and setup guidance. Contact ID reporting is supported alongside SIA. See Control Room Software Integration.

Patriot operators see event actions: Event comments and operator-triggered talkdown, white light, speaker and alarm relay actions reach the matching Patriot activation as notes, naming the camera and linking to the event. Each deterrent type is reported at most once every five minutes.
Patriot maintenance windows from the site page: Start or end test mode from the site's Patriot Systems tab, which also shows Patriot's current window. Signals still reach the control room during a window, without raising activations.
Patriot activity on the event: An event sent to Patriot now shows what was sent and what came back: the alarm itself, the ticket number, the activation's current status and the notes on it, each with the time it happened.
Patriot connection tests explain missing permissions: Test connection checks read access and every action TetherX sends, including alarm completion, without performing those actions. Results and their age stay on the site and control room account, with explanations of what each missing permission prevents. Recently confirmed refusals appear immediately on events, naming the permission and when it was checked. See Patriot Systems Reference.
Closing and snoozing reach Patriot: Closing an event completes the control-room alarm and adds the person's name and role: site user, administrator, monitoring operator, TetherX staff, installer or distributor. Snoozing puts the alarm to sleep until TetherX's scheduled close and records who snoozed it; an automatic close also reaches Patriot.
Heartbeat checks explain their limits: Patriot's watchdog account cannot be read through the shared account list. Test connection now explains that limitation and who to ask, rather than reporting a valid number as unrecognised. Last sent labels the heartbeat accurately; ask the control room to confirm receipt.
Grouped Patriot alarms link to every event: Each event added to an existing site activation gets a note with its own link, so operators can open later events as well as the first.
Everyday Improvements
Alert emails show the equipment behind a status change: Camera, device, TetherBox and alarm emails show the site, status and time. Camera alerts attach the last available time-lapse frame before a disconnection when the box or cloud has it; an event link appears with an image from that camera. TetherBox alerts link to that unit's own status event, without unrelated camera footage.
Alert recipients are easier to check and change: The "change who is notified" link in TetherBox, camera and network-device emails lists eligible recipients and why they receive alerts, alongside equipment on the same TetherBox. Viewers see only accounts they may access; account managers can change preferences through each person's notification settings. Preferences apply across the equipment that person can reach, and offline alerts respect selected-site access. See Notifications.
Sign-in alerts explain unusual access: Familiar sign-ins stop generating email. A first sign-in, a new country, device type or browser, and a successful sign-in after several failed attempts each produce an alert that says why it was sent.
Modal windows are easier to close: Image previews, camera snapshot exports, device web interfaces and event-sharing windows keep their close button at the top right.
New user forms keep your choice in reach: Pressing Escape after editing a new user now leaves the unsaved-changes choice open, so you can decide whether to stay or leave.
Easier administration: Equipment and settings pages have clearer grouped tabs and resource headers. Bulk editing is more consistent, address search fills complete address fields, and date/time fields accept natural formats such as
9,930or09:30.Cleaner control-room settings: The site Integrations tabs for Immix, Patriot Systems, HikCentral and Manitou now use text labels without icons.
Clearer, quieter audit history: Note changes show the edited text and time clearly. Account-row refreshes and company night-logo loads no longer create audit entries.
Lists stay in place as equipment changes: Site, camera, device, TetherBox, user and export lists update without losing the current filter, sort order, page or selection. New and removed entries appear on the correct page, and open edits are not interrupted.
Cloud quotes and subscriptions: Quote cloud backup using activity, retention and quality, with clearer discounts, customer mark-up and SKU details. Prices use Canadian, Australian or Indian currency on the relevant domains; longer retention options and cancellation notices are handled consistently.
A site has one timezone: Set a timezone for one site or a selected group; it governs every TetherBox there and the site's professional-monitoring schedules and exceptions. Settings show local time and explain the recording impact. Changing timezone moves the hours rather than converting them and restarts recording on each TetherBox whose clock moves, costing about 30 seconds of footage on that unit. See Timezones.
Trigger pickers offer what your cameras actually detect: The events filter and a camera's own notification and Always Ignore lists now offer the same set: what that camera or timeline has really sent, plus what its hardware supports, with an All triggers tab for anything else. A detection the camera reports but the hardware check never predicted, such as LILIN people classification, can now be filtered and silenced. The appearance filter offers only colours a search can find, and says so straight away instead of searching for one that was never recorded. LILIN cameras also report several behaviours per object, and five behaviours that were being read under the wrong name now arrive correctly, including line crossing and loitering.
Camera snapshot downloads work on any TetherBox: A bulk snapshot download no longer needs a cloud subscription, and no longer asks you to type your password again. It appears in Exports the moment you start it and shows its progress camera by camera, so a long download can be left to run and checked later.
Large exports are easier to review: Snapshot downloads keep images from cameras with matching names, and an archive error no longer leads to a second, misleading failure email. Exports show included cameras and events 50 at a time, and the Exports list no longer loads every camera name for a hover tooltip.
Documentation that asks for feedback: Knowledge-base articles now collect helpful/not-helpful feedback, while support-facing articles and the API reference have been expanded and clarified.
API and Reliability
The public API can now list and trigger supported camera deterrents, with useful errors when a command cannot run. Malformed requests return the correct 4xx response, and SIA errors identify the segment that needs fixing. See Alarm Signal Receiving.
Stability and usability fixes: This release includes a broad set of fixes across permissions, monitoring, alarms, storage, Live View, maps, event playback, tables and mobile layouts. Camera and event details remain available when a linked TetherBox record is missing. Key improvements include reliable control-room settings, correct arming and health states, safer bulk updates, more accurate device and drive status, and smoother long-running Live View and Events sessions.
